Diecutting: One of the tools of the trade

We wanted to highlight a couple of classic pieces of equipment the Heidelberg clam shell and cylinder presses.
The clam shell is apply named because the cutting takes place when two flat surfaces are brought together, the die is placed on one surface and the clean surface applies pressure, with the substrate in between the two.
The cylinder press has a flat surface and a cylindrical surface. In this case the die is still placed on the flat surface, however the cylinder applies pressure to cut the substrate, which again is placed between the two surfaces. These old classics were built to last and are still part of daily operations! For more information about the services and products we provide, please go to: altainc.com
